Our Outstanding Sled Dog Care

Uncommon Journeys has been referred to as the Yukon’s “Club Med” for sled dogs as our dogs live in the most deluxe facilities and receive the absolute finest in nutritional, shelter and veterinary care and sled dog training. Our sled dog kennel received Canada’s first certification as a “Certfication Plus” dog sled kennel.

Our Dog Sled Teams

Our dog sledding teams comprise a blend of personalities, athletic skillsets and friendly get-up-and-go energetic enthusiasm and you will love getting to know these happy, adorable creatures on your Uncommon Journey’s dog sledding adventure. Our mushing teams have included prize competitors in many of the world renown dog sledding races including the Ititarod and the Yukon Quest.

Always adorable, nothing melts your heart like an Alaskan husky puppy! We socialize our sled dog puppies from an early age so they mature into the “friendliest dogs in the north”. Take a gander at our latest crop of sled dogs in training!

Adopt a Friend

Since the inception of Uncommon Journeys in 1997, we have been finding loving homes for our retired sled dogs. In the past we have flown dogs from Seattle to Toronto. Because they are so well socialized we often have several families all wanting to adopt a particular dog.

Mush with P.R.I.D.E.

Mush with P.R.I.D.E. (Providing Responsible Information on a Dog’s Environment) is an organization that was created by a group of prominent mushers in the state of Alaska and has grown to represent mushing interests all over North America and around the world. Uncommon Journeys is proud to be an active supporter of this important organization, and particularly proud to be the first kennel in Canada certified at P.R.I.D.E.’s highest level.
