Successful Reconnaissance in Tombstone Mountains!

This April, we travelled up the Dempster Highway in northern Yukon to the Tombstone Mountains and Blackstone Uplands. This is a spectacular alpine area located right at treeline. The views for 360° are magnificent mountain peaks. Even in late April, the trails were covered in four feet of snow. Temperatures during the day were a balmy +5°C (40°F) with plenty of sunshine.

In late March, early April 2005 we are planning on offering the first commercial dogsledding trip to this area. This will be an ‘exploratory’ trip and will see us mushing long days and camping out in some incredibly pristine wilderness. Keep checking our website for details, dates and prices.

A New Arrival in Due in August!

Just when we thought we had finished the last of the big projects around here, we decided to start a family! We are expecting our first child in August and are anticipating he/she will be ready to guide this coming winter. Well, perhaps that isn’t realistic but we are hoping that hearing all the howling and barking in our backyard in utero will mean that when ‘junior’ arrives, the dogs won’t be a shock! We have been trying to explain to Percy and Martini, our two house dogs, that they should be expecting a new brother or sister in a few months time. We are also trying to convince Martini to take on the role of ‘Nana’ from Peter Pan!
