Uncommon Journey’s offers custom Yukon adventures from dog sledding, hiking, canoeing to multisport “sampler” trips and offering options from six to fourteen days.
Each year we have groups who wish to create their own dogsledding itinerary through the Yukon wilderness. These dog mushing trips are either one or two weeks long in duration and can include activities such as snowmobiling, snowshoeing, and ice-fishing and may be cabin-based, camping based or a combination of both.
Uncommon Journeys offers private canoe trips on the Wind River and canoeing on the Yukon River for the novice paddler to those with advanced canoeing skills. Our custom canoe trips may last from two days to three weeks in duration. From the fast water and remote settings of the Snake and the Wind to the more leisurely Takhini and Yukon, we can put together a custom canoeing adventure that is sure to exceed your grandest dreams.
Canoeing instruction, Royalex expedition canoes, paddling and camping gear, delicious campfire meals and expert guides are all provided to ensure that your canoe trip is the vacation of a lifetime. In the past we have provided canoeing trips for families with members ranging in age from 8 to 68.
For our guests who want to go hiking in remote wilderness areas of Canada’s Yukon, carrying their gear and camping out each evening, we provide several hiking options. Hiking in Kluane National Park, home of Canada’s tallest mountain, Mount Logan, and the largest non-polar icecap in the world, or heli-hiking in the spectacular Ibex Valley/Coast Mountains are two great options for avid hikers and we have numerous other Yukon hiking itineraries to suggest.
We designed our “Yukon Sampler” adventure vacations in response to the growing demand from our guests who wanted to try a bit of everything that the Yukon has to offer – in a relatively short period of time. We combine active Yukon adventures including hiking, heli-hiking, canoeing, fishing, and flight seeing with both cabin - based and wilderness camping Yukon accommodations.
