Our goal is simple: we want our guests to experience true wilderness travel at it’s best, without compromising their safety and comfort.
We cannot stress enough that the quality of every trip component is what ensures that every Uncommon Journeys adventure is an exceptional experience.
Our equipment is the best available, our food is delicious, and the scenery is some of the finest which the Yukon has to offer. Most importantly, our guides (and our dogs!) have been hand-picked and trained to reflect the experience, hospitality and professionalism that is at the core of Uncommon Journeys Ltd.
Uncommon Journeys is a proud member of:
- Wilderness Tourism Association of the Yukon

The People in Charge
Meet Rod and Martha Taylor, owners and Chief Guides of Uncommon Journeys.
The Homestead
Enjoy a virtual tour of one of the Yukon Territory’s most respected sled dog kennels and wilderness tourism facilities. This is where most guests stay at the beginning of their adventure with us.
The Wilderness Basecamp
Visit this state of the art eco-tourism basecamp. This magical place is nestled in a mountain valley next to a beautiful river in pristine wilderness. All of the facilities have been specifically created to ensure that there is little or no impact on the environment and nearby wolf, grizzly bear and caribou populations.
Uncommon Menus and Food Service
At Uncommon Journeys we love to eat well and we are well known for our outstanding, Northern cuisine. Prepare to salivate as you take a peek at some of the menus we offer on both our camping and cabin-based adventures.
Wildlife Viewing
The wildlife of the Yukon is one of the Territory’s most precious resources. Enjoy some images taken of these magnificent animals by Rod and Martha while on our trips with guests.
