OUR YUKON ACCOMMODATIONS

Our adventure vacations at Uncommon Journeys often combine a mix of accommodations at both our deluxe wilderness lodge just outside of Whitehorse to luxurious camping at out Yurt Basecamp in the Ibex River Valley.

Our Luxury Wilderness Lodge Near Whitehorse – “The Homestead”

Our Uncommon Yukon Lodge is located just 25 minutes north of the Yukon's capital, Whitehorse. Our custom built wilderness lodge, “the Homestead” and log cabins have been a labor of love for us for over ten years. The Uncommon Yukon Lodge consists of the main log cabin, complete with a sundeck and hot tub, showers, two guest bedrooms, loft library and full cooking and dining facilities. Every room of our lodge has a spectacular view of the Coast Mountains. The Homestead’s accommodations also include two guest log cabins and a spacious guest yurt. Other facilities on our property which you are welcome to explore are a greenhouse, a workshop, a recreation room with a large screen TV, cozy reading area and northern book library with internet access, our horse barn and corrals, and of course our dog yards for our four-legged guides.

Our "Deluxe" Wilderness Yurt Basecamp

We have custom designed the Uncommon Journey’s Wilderness Yurt Camp to the highest standard of “deluxe” wilderness camping. Very few people ever make it to this magnificent place and those who do, and who get to stay in the Uncommon Journey’s Wilderness Yurt Camp, leave with memories of a unique wilderness setting that can only be found in Canada’s Yukon.

The large main yurt has a full kitchen and a wood burning cook stove, and a dining area where we all gather for family style meals. There is also a comfortable living room where we can relax around the blazing wood stove. Guests sleep in their own private yurts which are equipped with their own individual cast iron stoves so you are totally warm at night. There is also a sauna and a shower house at our Yurt Camp which can accommodate four guests and our famous "dutch door outhouse" with an insulated seat and great view of the Northern lights!
